Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, met with key White House officials this week to discuss priorities for supporting American farmers and ranchers amid rising costs and uncertain markets. Hoeven held the meetings focusing on expanding agricultural exports, improving market stability, and addressing financial challenges in rural America. He highlighted the administration’s recent announcement that the USDA will soon resume FSA operations, essential for processing farm loans and delivering support payments to producers.

Discussions also covered the livestock industry, with Hoeven stressing the need for policies that stabilize beef markets and ensure fair returns for producers facing high input costs. Hoeven also praised the administration’s ongoing commitment to agriculture and said he plans to continue meeting with federal officials to advance efforts that promote exports, strengthen the farm economy, and provide stability to producers nationwide.
