Rescue Teams Save Two from Sinking Boat at Pipestem Reservoir

The Stutsman County Dive Rescue Team rescued a sinking boat Wednesday afternoon at Pipestem Reservoir near Jamestown, according to first reporting by The Jamestown Sun.

Two people were aboard the vessel when it began taking on water near the Parkhurst Campground boat docks around 3:30 p.m. A nearby fisherman helped the pair off the sinking boat before rescue teams arrived.

Nine dive rescue team members responded and used their boat to tow the sinking vessel to shore. Nine Jamestown firefighters stood by at the station during the 45-minute operation.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the sinking remains unknown. The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, and Jamestown Area Ambulance also responded to the scene.
