By Ryan King Oct 31, 2025 | 8:43 AM

Cargill announced Wednesday that it will lay off 80 employees from its Minnesota headquarters, part of ongoing restructuring efforts aimed at “fueling future growth.”

The company employs about 5,300 people in Minnesota, has already cut nearly 500 local positions in 2024 and around 8,000 company-wide. The newly affected positions are described as professional jobs—including roles in human resources, finance, and customer service—rather than front-line plant work. In its official statement,

Cargill said the reductions are part of a long-term effort to “align resources and talent” with the company’s strategic priorities and maintain competitiveness in a changing global market.
