The North Dakota Department of Agriculture will host a series of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Produce Safety Grower Training Courses to help fruit and vegetable growers enhance their food safety knowledge and meet federal training requirements.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said the courses are valuable for anyone interested in produce safety, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and managing natural resources responsibly.
The virtual sessions are free for produce growers and $100 for non-produce growers, with priority given to North Dakota producers. Courses will take place on Dec. 10; Jan. 14, Jan. 28, and Feb. 11, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Topics include worker hygiene, soil amendments, water use, wildlife management, postharvest sanitation, and developing a farm food safety plan.
