University of Jamestown students and community donors shattered previous records at this year’s Trick-or-Can event, gathering more than 6,000 non-perishable food items and over $500 in cash donations on Nov. 2—the largest collection in the event’s history.
The record-breaking haul resulted from collaborative efforts between student volunteers and generous community participation. This event is organized by the university’s Student Senate, led by President Margaux Kautzmann, who told the Jamestown Sun she was pleased with the turnout, and saw this as an opportunity for students to connect with the community while giving back. University President, Polly Peterson, thanked the community for their support.
There is always a need for food donations in Jamestown; please consider donating to Community Action Region VI Food Pantry whenever possible.
