The National Wheat Foundation (NWF) recently announced 28 national winners of its 10th Annual National Wheat Yield Contest, recognizing top-performing growers from across the United States. Rylee Reynolds of Twin Falls, Idaho, earned top honors as the overall “Bin Buster” with an irrigated soft white winter wheat yield of 228.13 bushels per acre, the second-highest in the contest’s history. Another winner included Nick Pfaff of North Dakota, who also achieved exceptional yields in respective categories.
This year’s contest saw 465 entries — the second-most ever — and included 11 first-time national winners from both traditional and new wheat-growing states, such as Wisconsin and Indiana.
The competition continues to encourage innovation and improved management practices that enhance yield, quality, and sustainability. NWF leaders praised farmers for their dedication and highlighted the return of wheat to crop rotations in some regions, which has improved soil health and pest management.
