Vikings DON’T Make Move at Trade Deadline

After a day full of blockbuster trades, particularly the New York Jets doing a fire sale and getting a HAUL of draft picks for star players Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, one team in need of some added help and depth was quiet at the trade deadline.

The Minnesota Vikings remained silent at the deadline, making no moves to bolster the roster a little more, in an attempt to gain some momentum heading into the second half of the season.

The Vikings had some notable holes on the team, that they could have addressed at the deadline, but will instead keep with the current roster and go from here.

The team was in need of some depth at the cornerback position and the offensive line, but no calls were made, and it is unclear if the Vikings made any calls at all.

One surprise to many Vikings fans was the team not going after a veteran quarterback to sit behind J.J. McCarthy in the event of another injury. There were some names mentioned in the search but no deal was made including Jameis Winston, Russell Wilson, and Case Keenum. Currently the Vikings only have 2 quarterbacks on their active roster, McCarthy and the rookie Max Brosmer.

Will this strategy work out for the Vikings? Heading into Week 10 the Vikings sit at 4-4 and will host the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday in Minnesota. Will the team be able to ride the momentum of J.J. McCarthy’s return? Or will those glaring holes on the offense and defense show their light again and make for a long finish to the Minnesota Vikings season? We will find out in Week 10.
