The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead at a Horace residence this morning.
Deputies responded to 7994 Jacks Way shortly before 8 a.m. for a reported disturbance. They learned enroute that a female was injured and a male had left seeking medical help. Despite lifesaving efforts by deputies, Southern Valley Rescue, and Sanford Ambulance, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
One person believed to have been present during the incident is in custody. The Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating and will hold a press conference later today.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
