Major ND Agriculture Organizations Planning Merger

By Ryan King Nov 6, 2025 | 7:14 AM

Two major North Dakota agricultural organizations — the North Dakota Agricultural Association (NDAA) and the North Dakota Grain Dealers Association (NDGDA) — have announced plans to merge.

The proposal will be presented to members for a vote at each group’s annual meeting: NDAA in December 2025 and NDGDA in January 2026. If approved, the merged organization will adopt a new name. NDAA represents the state’s commercial ag retail industry, while NDGDA represents the commercial grain sector. In a joint statement, leaders from both associations said the merger would strengthen their shared mission of advocating for North Dakota’s agricultural businesses.

Both groups have long histories — NDGDA dating back to 1911 and NDAA to the 1940s — and each plays a key role in supporting the state’s ag industry through education and outreach.
