South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is hosting a workshop to help farm families integrate childcare into their overall farm planning. The event will be held Wednesday, November 12, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the SDSU Extension Regional Center in Winner, South Dakota.

Families will learn strategies for balancing farm work with parenting responsibilities, incorporating childcare costs into budgets, and addressing childcare as part of farm risk management.

SDSU Extension officials say the session is designed for both current and future farmers, offering practical tools and professional resources. The evening includes a meal, a presentation on childcare in farm planning, and a panel discussion on South Dakota’s childcare challenges. Registration is $20 per adult or $50 per family and includes a meal and childcare, with sign-up due by November 5.
