North Dakota officials are still on the lookout for an escaped inmate. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reported a resident simply walked away from Missouri River Correctional Center on Saturday, Nov. 8. This is an unfenced, minimum-security facility located in Bismarck, ND. Roman Poitra, a 38-year-old man of Native American Descent, stands at 5 feet 11 inches and weighs 260 pounds. He has brown shoulder-length hair and glasses. Poitra was serving a sentence for failure to register and for possession of prohibited materials in Cass County. His release date is Jan. 2028. Poitra has connections in the Devils Lake area and could be traveling in that direction. If you have any information about his whereabouts, contact your local law enforcement.
