Dakota Bowl State Championships Preview!

By Ryan King Nov 13, 2025 | 10:36 AM

It’s finally here! The day we are all waiting for every single year in North Dakota High School Football. 8 teams have punched their ticket to the big dance, now its time to determine who will be hoisting the trophy when the clock hits zero in each Classification at the 2025 Dakota Bowl going on at the Fargodome, in Fargo, North Dakota. Let’s take a look at the matchups and see how each team stacks up.

-9-Man-

#2 Lamoure-LM (Loboes) vs. #1 New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock (Rockets)

  • A rematch of the 2024 9 man state championship where we seen the Rockets reign supreme over the Loboes in blowout fashion. One thing I wonder heading into this Clash of the Titans will be, did Lamoure-LM learn from their appearance last year, and can they finish the mission this year when they get another shot at New Rockford-Sheyenne Maddock? Like last year, both teams feature a high octane scoring offense and a lockdown stout defense, so something will have to give when they meet up again. Will Lamoure-LM finish their story? Or will New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock complete the repeat?

-Class A-

#6 Bottineau (Braves) vs. #1 Langdon Area-Munich (Cardinals)

  • Langdon has taken over as the powerhouse in Class A, taking down last years champ Velva-Garrison-Drake/Anamoose in the Semifinal. Sitting in the way of a perfect season and state championship for the Cardinals is the team that has had a fun and surprising run in these playoffs. Bottineau has ran the table getting road wins against EEK, and Killdeer, both who were favorites to reach the Dakotabowl heading into the playoffs. Langdon will look to finish off a perfect season with a state championship, but Bottineau and their productive offense may have something to say when they meet up at the 50 yards line of the Fargodome.

-Class AA-

#3 Devils Lake (Firebirds) vs. #1 Minot North (Sentinels)

  • One team was expected to be here, one team was a surprise to be here. Devils Lake finished the upset in the Semifinal taking down big bad Kindred, setting up their chance for a state championship. In their way will be the only team Kindred would have struggled with and that is Minot North. Minot North has been the #1 team in the class all season long, and hasn’t really been tested this season save for the semifinal where Central Cass went down swinging against Sentinels. Can Devils Lake pull off another upset and this time being for the prize of a state championship? Or can Minot North finish their perfect season on top just like they have been all season long?

-Class AAA-

W1 Bismarck Century (Patriots) vs. E1 Fargo Davies (Eagles)

  • Fargo Davies will have another crack at a State Championship after coming up just short in last years final. In their way is a team that’s been here before and looks to establish their dominance once again in the Class. Fargo Davies and Century will meet up in the AAA title game. Both teams have run heavy offenses and heavy defenses that are tough to crack. This game could come down to who has the ball last, and or longer. Can Davies finish their mission similar to Lamoure-LM in 9-man?
