USDA Announces Relief Package Timeline

By Ryan King Nov 20, 2025 | 7:14 AM

The Trump administration plans to unveil a long-delayed relief package for struggling farmers in early December, according to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins.

The proposal had been postponed by the government shutdown, but agencies have now resumed work on the plan. Rollins offered no specific details, though she emphasized that farmers continue to face financial strain from shrinking safety-net programs and trade tensions that severely cut export markets.

Farmers say the relief cannot come soon enough, as inflation and high production costs continue to squeeze profits. Rollins acknowledged the challenges facing row-crop producers and said that although the administration may not be able to fully offset farmers’ losses, the goal is to provide meaningful financial help as they prepare for the upcoming planting season.
