The USDA has launched a new centralized website dedicated to New World Screwworm, giving livestock producers, veterinarians, and researchers a single source for verified updates on cases, response efforts, and preparedness resources. The site includes fact sheets, reporting guidance for suspected cases, and detailed information on USDA’s five-part plan to manage and contain the pest.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins emphasized that the site is designed to ensure fast, accurate communication as the situation evolves. The new platform supports a coordinated, whole-of-government response, bringing together information from agencies including the CDC, FDA, and the Department of the Interior. USDA officials say the effort underscores the national security importance of preventing the spread of New World Screwworm.
