The Jamestown City Council unanimously approved the 2027-2030 State Transportation Improvement Plan Monday, designating millions of dollars to upcoming road projects, according to extensive reporting by Masaki Ova of the Jamestown Sun.
Major 2027 projects include the Business Loop West reconstruction with a new roundabout at Highway 52 and 10th Street Southeast, Highway 52 concrete repairs, and a $4 million overlay on 4th Avenue East. The Business Loop project also includes replacing two bridges and restriping 1st Avenue South to match the downtown Road Diet configuration. The city’s share for 4th Ave. work is about $765,000.
The council also approved $125,000 for tourism marketing through JSDC, $35,000 for the Workforce Pathways Program, $80,000 for renovating the JSDC building that houses Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Tourism, and $13,000 for volleyball equipment at the Civic Center.
