High wind speeds and decreasing temperatures will cause hazardous cold conditions across southeastern North Dakota.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service says temperatures could drop double-digits below zero, with the coldest period on Thursday morning.   Wind speeds of up to 25 mph are likely to cause hazardous freezing conditions in Jamestown.

Overnight snow flurries caused morning drifting that impacted I-94 and most roads in Stutsman County, with the Department of Transportation listing the county as having the worst conditions in the state at that time.

Snow chances over the next week have increased, with 20-50% chances of snow in Jamestown each of the next seven days.   No large snow systems are currently forecast to impact the Stutsman County area, so accumulations should be light.

Travelers are advised to take extreme caution on the roads during the next week, and have emergency clothing and equipment in your cars.  Even short exposure to the elements with 25 degrees-below-zero wind chills expected can cause serious medical issues.
