A former John Deere vice president, has filed a federal lawsuit accusing Deere & Company and executives of gender-based pay discrimination and retaliation.
Laura Eberlin says that after the foundation president resigned in 2024, she assumed many of the top duties without receiving a comparable pay increase. When she later raised concerns about her compensation, she alleges Deere altered her reporting structure, reduced her role, and created a hostile work environment. She resigned in November 2024 and says Deere refused her attempt to rescind that resignation.
Eberlin also claims Deere retaliated by contacting her next employer, the University of Iowa, in ways intended to limit her involvement in Deere-related work. Deere has denied the allegations in court filings and public statements. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Illinois, and is still in its early stages.
