The National Weather Service warns of multiple winter weather systems affecting North Dakota starting tonight through the weekend.
As snow develops in western ND this afternoon, accumulating snow begins this evening and continues through Thursday night, with areas of freezing rain expected across western and southern regions including Bismarck-Mandan through late Thursday morning. More accumulating snow is possible across the west and south-central areas Friday through early Saturday.
Below-average temperatures will persist through the weekend, with dangerous wind chills expected Thursday evening through Sunday morning. Travelers should prepare for hazardous conditions and limit outdoor exposure during the coldest periods.
The extended period of winter weather follows Tuesday’s high winds and heavy snow that created difficult travel conditions across the state.
