Authorities in Cass County are investigating a deadly house fire south of Horace.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said a 64-year-old woman died after a house fire south of Horace Wednesday night. Deputies and firefighters were called a little before 7 p.m., after the homeowner returned and found the house full of smoke.
Crews from Southern Valley Fire and Rescue and West Fargo Fire contained the blaze and later found the woman dead inside the home. Her name is being withheld until family is notified.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office and local fire officials are investigating the fire, and no cause has yet been determined according to officials.
