Law enforcement was on high alert Sunday night after a bomb threat targeted the North Dakota State Capitol.

According to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Bismarck Central Dispatch received the call at 9:52 p.m. on Sunday (March 15), claiming an explosive device had been placed inside the building. Several agencies collaborated in immediately searching and locking down the grounds.

Luckily, no explosives were detonated during the incident, and after a floor-by-floor search by the Bismarck Bomb Squad, no device was found. Security and drone footage showed no suspicious activity or threats in the immediate area. The Capitol building was officially deemed safe and the scene was cleared shortly before midnight.
