Gas prices continue to increase across North Dakota, but at a lower rate than most of the country.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.48 on Tuesday morning in the Peace Garden State. That’s up about five cents from a week ago, and about 50 cents from a month ago when the conflict with Iran began.
Diesel prices rose more quickly, up 18 cents from last week to $4.77 per gallon. That’s also up 77 cents from a month ago, and $1.30 from a year ago.
The eastern I-94 corridor continues to have the lowest prices in the state, with Barnes and Cass Counties averaging around $3.30 a gallon for unleaded.
Prices have skyrocketed nationally over the past month, up nearly 80 cents per gallon for unleaded, and over $1.10 for diesel during that time. Prices in California and Hawaii have approached $6 per gallon for unleaded, and over $7 in some areas for diesel.
The consensus from market analysts continues to be that prices for crude will keep rising with the conflicts in the Middle East worsening, translating to increasing gas and diesel prices across the world.
