The nonprofit leading restoration of the Ellendale Opera House has announced a new $130,000 capital campaign as work continues on the historic downtown building.
O.P.E.R.A., Inc. says this year’s Stepping Up fund drive includes two matching dollar opportunities, including one for new donors and another for past donors who increase what they gave last year. The fundraising push comes as restoration work moves ahead on the west lower level of the opera house, where historically accurate street-level frontage is planned.
North Dakota Tourism says the volunteer-led effort has been working to restore the 1909 landmark, including its still-unfinished 700-seat auditorium. The group also reported last year’s fund drive brought in $117,000.
