At 108-years-old, Frederick Wallace Quam died on Monday. He was known to be the oldest man in North Dakota.
Quam was born on Oct. 2, 1916 in Fargo. Quam graduated from Fargo Central high school and enlisted into the Air Force in 1941, later joining the North Dakota Air National Guard as an aircraft mechanic. Quam retired from the military in 1976. Quam was named the Civil Servant of the Year in 1958.
He is survived by his daughter Jean and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
