About 180 unvaccinated students from three Williston-area schools are isolating at home after measles exposure on their campuses. Health officials confirmed nine measles cases in Williams County, with four infected individuals having attended Williston schools while contagious. The quarantine affects unvaccinated students at Missouri Ridge Elementary, Williston Middle School, and Williston High School, who must isolate for 21 days. The district is providing digital learning opportunities for affected students. Williams County’s kindergarten vaccination rate is 81%, below the 95% needed to prevent community spread. Local health officials are holding walk-in vaccination clinics on Thursday and Friday for concerned residents.
