A Grand Forks County jail inmate received 12 years in prison July 28th for smuggling fentanyl that caused two overdoses.
Jeremie Castoreno admitted to hiding drugs in his court paperwork on December 2nd, 2024. Two fellow inmates overdosed after he distributed the contraband, according to court records.
Castoreno has an extensive drug-related criminal record. He’ll receive credit for time already served since his December arrest.
