Jamestown Police Arrest Suspect After Downtown Shooting, Early Morning SWAT Operation

A suspect wanted for questioning in connection with shots fired in downtown Jamestown Thursday evening has been safely detained following an early morning operation in northwest Jamestown. 31-year-old Kwamne Kane was arrested on suspicion of Discharge of Firearm Within A City and Reckless Endangerment. Kane is being held on $20,000 bond.

Jamestown Police and the James-Valley Special Operations team executed a search warrant at an apartment complex around 4:40 a.m., temporarily evacuating residents and closing streets including 4th Street Northwest and 2nd Avenue Northwest. No one was injured in the initial shooting reported around 8:40 p.m. Thursday.

Streets have been reopened and evacuated residents have returned to their apartments.
