A winter surprise is not expected tonight, as snow should hold off across North Dakota.
The National Weather Service says precipitation across North Dakota will stay as rain or drizzle tonight, with temperatures too mild for snow accumulation.
No measurable snow has been reported anywhere in the state this week.
Forecasters say light snow could return late Thursday night into Friday, mainly in north-central and northwest counties, as colder air slides south.
For Jamestown and the I-94 corridor, rain remains the main story through the weekend.
The next realistic chance for flakes will likely come early next week, when another weak front moves in from Montana.
