North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension is hosting a series of free suicide prevention webinars to help those in agriculture and related industries recognize and respond to mental health challenges. The training, known as Question, Persuade, Refer which equips participants with tools to identify warning signs, ask difficult questions, and connect individuals to professional help.
The sessions are scheduled for November 20, January 21, and February 23, each lasting 90 minutes.
Research shows that people working in agriculture experience higher rates of stress and suicide than those in many other fields. NDSU Extension specialists say the webinars are designed to build awareness, provide practical skills, and promote emotional well-being within rural communities.
