The National Weather Service forecasts near-daily chances for light snow across North Dakota through next week, with multiple systems moving through the region.

The first system brings a 40-90% chance of 1 to 2 inches along, south, and west of the Missouri River Friday through Saturday, with up to 4 inches possible in southwest North Dakota. A 30-70% chance of light accumulating snow returns Sunday over south central areas, with around an inch expected along and west of Highway 83.

A more significant system arrives Monday night through Tuesday night, bringing strong winds along with rain and snow across the region, likely impacting 80% of North Dakota, according to the NWS. Temperatures will drop below average this weekend, rise above average Monday and Tuesday, then fall below average again for the second half of next week.

Travelers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility from blowing snow, particularly with the Monday-Tuesday system.
