Jamestown city crews are beginning snow removal on emergency routes this morning.

The City Engineer’s Office said snow crews will began clearing emergency routes around 5 a.m., and the work will continue until those routes are finished. Drivers are being asked to move vehicles off all posted emergency corridors this morning.

The city reminds property owners that sidewalks must be kept clear of snow and ice under city ordinances, and that pushing snow back into the street is illegal. Violations are misdemeanors and can result in fines.

Officials added that snow removal plans may change or become more extensive depending on today’s weather, with heavy drifting additional snowfall likely.
