Authorities have now identified the woman who died in a house fire south of Horace earlier this week.
Law enforcement said the woman found dead in a on Wednesday has been identified as 64-year-old Rebecca Bass. She was discovered inside the home after fire crews were called to the scene Wednesday night, when the homeowner returned and found the house filled with smoke.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters from Southern Valley and West Fargo responded and contained the fire. Bass was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s & State Fire Marshal’s Office say they are continuing to investigate the events and cause of the fire.
