I-94 and Highway 49 experienced closures this morning as NDHP troopers investigate crashes. The closure on I-94 appears to be ongoing as of 9:50 a.m., but Highway 49 has since been reopened.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported at 6:00 a.m. that a semi rollover is blocking both lanes on westbound I-94 west of Steele at mile marker 191, prompting closure. Multiple vehicles appear to have been involved. Troopers say this will be an extended closure as they work to clear the scene and continue their investigation.
The detour route is exit 200 to old Highway 10. Troopers advise drivers to slow down and plan for delays in the area. No details have yet been released as to the cause of the crash or resulting injuries.
Another closure was announced at 7:20 a.m. for Highway 49 at mile marker 83, or the Mercer/Morton County line, approximately 10 miles north of I-94 for a separate crash investigation. EDIT: Highway 49 is now open.
