The North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) has named Hetta Skaare, a junior at Dickinson Trinity High School, as the 2026-2027 Distinguished Student.
Interviews for the honor took place yesterday, April 29, at the Farmers Union Insurance Headquarters in Jamestown. A candidate for Distinguished Student must be entering their senior year, and is a person who serves as a role model and strengthens their school’s activity programs.
Skaare was awarded a $2,000 scholarship, while the runner-up, Leah Dokken of Minot High, won $1,000. The finalists, Jocelyn Berg of Grand Forks Red River, Jordan Christofferson of West Fargo Horace, Angong Deng of North Sargent, and Aliyah Schwarzenberger of Napoleon, were each awarded with a $500 scholarship.
