Senator Hoeven recently announced that the Federal Aviation Administration awarded millions in funding for 20 projects to improve airport infrastructure across North Dakota, as first reported by the Jamestown Sun. Jamestown Regional Airport, Carrington Municipal Airport, and Barnes County Municipal Airport were included in this funding, as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Improvement Program. The total funding awarded is $17.9 million across all projects.
Jamestown Regional Airport was awarded $2.1 million, which will be used to reseal the runway and for taxiway pavements. Carrington Municipal Airport was awarded $900,000 to reconstruct the runway and to improve taxiway lighting and approach systems. Barnes County Municipal Airport in Valley City was awarded $553,926 to reseal its apron and for taxiway pavements.
