State Patrol releases name of victim, driver in Fargo pedestrian crash

Authorities have revealed the identity of the victim of Wednesday’s car versus pedestrian accident. 38-year-old Jose Rodriguez of West Fargo was killed early Wednesday morning after being hit by a car in Fargo. At approximately 2:46 a.m., a Ford Fusion driven by 25-year-old Carly Vizenor struck Rodriguez, who was crossing 32nd Avenue South, according to the State Patrol. The release says Rodriguez was crossing about 20 to 30 yards east of the 9th Street intersection. Weather and road conditions were good at the time of the accident.

Troopers say that the driver initially left the scene of the crash, but returned about 10 minutes later. Rodriguez suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation; details on potential charges have not yet been revealed.
