North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Highway 1 in Lakota last week.
NHDP says 93-year-old Leonard Aamot of Lakota died after his Buick was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe at about 4:30 p.m on Friday afternoon.
Troopers say Aamot stopped at the northbound stop sign on Highway 1, then entered the intersection and failed to yield. The Tahoe struck the passenger side of the car, fatally injuring Aamot.
Patrol identified the Tahoe driver as Ashley Brusseau of Grand Forks. Brusseau and two juvenile passengers were not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
