Saturday Will Bring Calm & Sunshine; Cold & Rain Sunday & Monday

By Seth Dunlap May 15, 2026 | 12:28 PM

While Saturday should bring the best weather of the year to Jamestown, an unusual late-May cold front is heading our way.

The winds will be relatively calm Saturday with sustained winds of less than 10 mph through most of eastern North Dakota.  Mostly sunny skies will allow air temperatures to rise into the mid-70s in Jamestown, making it a great day to get outdoors after a brutal week of extreme weather.

The great weather isn’t likely to last long.   Winds will briefly return Saturday night as an incoming cold front will drive temperatures down by Sunday morning.   Highs may top out in the 50s, or even high-40s in some areas of southeastern North Dakota from Sunday through Tuesday.

That system may tow in much-needed precipitation, with at least moderate chances of showers from Saturday night through Monday morning.

This year’s turbulent spring weather is likely to continue for at least the next few weeks.
