According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Memorial Day is known as one of the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ due to the increased amount of fatal crashes across the country and in North Dakota.
There were a couple highlights the patrol reported from this holiday weekend; one individual was caught going 109 MPH in an 80 MPH zone, and their excuse was that they needed to use the bathroom. The patrol noted that the actual quote was more explicit. Another individual was caught going 102 MPH in an 80 MPH zone, and their excuse was that they were washing the bugs off their windshield.
The NDHP reminds drivers to slow down, buckle up, and leave early, as getting somewhere a few minutes faster isn’t worth risking lives.
