Tributes are pouring in following the passing of former North Dakota House Minority Leader Merle Boucher.
The Rolette Democrat passed away in a Bismarck hospital on Thursday, June 11 at the age of 79. He served in the state house from 1991 to 2011, and led the House Democratic-NPL caucus for seven legislative sessions. His peers spoke about his advocacy for education, Indigenous rights, and care for the Earth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the Rolette Public School Gymnasium, according to Elick Funeral Home.
