Medora Visitors Should Expect Delays During Trump Visit & America 250 Events

Anyone heading to Medora around Independence Day should plan for extra traffic, possible delays, and shuttle parking during America’s 250th birthday celebration.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and North Dakota Highway Patrol say a temporary traffic plan is in place today through Sunday as Medora hosts several major events and President Donald Trump around the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.

The biggest travel impacts are expected Wednesday when President Trump is scheduled to visit Medora for the library dedication. State officials say motorists should expect additional traffic restrictions, temporary road closures, and travel delays connected to the presidential visit.

Drivers going into Medora are encouraged to use the free parking and shuttle service from Exit 36 near Fryburg. Visitors may also enter Medora from Exit 24 on Interstate 94.  Exit 27 will be reserved for shuttle services and emergency vehicles entering town.  Free shuttles will run from June 30 through July 5.

The Medora Musical performances will resume on Thursday after being cancelled earlier in the week in preparation for the presidential visit.

Traffic updates are available online at DOT.nd.gov.
