North Dakota is requesting millions from the federal government in response to the June 7th-9th storms that produced supercell thunderstorms, straight-line winds up to 100 MPH, tornadoes, and large hail, according to the press release. This affected the counties of Bottineau, Burke, Divide, McLean, Mercer, Oliver and Williams.
Governor Armstrong submitted the $4.6 million request Tuesday. The release says 25,000 North Dakotans were left without power after the storms, as significant infrastructure damage was incurred, prompting a state disaster declaration on June 30th.
