Agristo breaks ground at $1 billion potato processing facility in Grand Forks

Agristo, a Belgium-based potato processing company is bringing its first North American facility to Grand Forks, North Dakota. This project has been in the planning stages for nearly a year, and has officially entered a significant phase of its construction with a recent groundbreaking ceremony that brought Agristo and project leaders together for the ceremony.

The American Ag Network reports that the $1 billion investment in the state-of-the-art facility will eventually culminate in 1.1 billion pounds of potatoes processed annually, and 300 jobs at full capacity. The projected direct and indirect economic impact in the region is $1.5 billion. Potatoes will be sourced from 50 farmers in the Red River Valley once fully operational.
