Monango farmer-rancher Val Wagner is taking a seat on the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors.
Wagner was elected by Farm Bureau leaders from the Midwest region to fill a vacancy on the national board. Her term runs through January 2027.
Wagner is currently the president of North Dakota Farm Bureau. The NDFB has not had a president serving on the on the national board since 1999.
Wagner farms and ranches with her husband, Mark, near Monango. They run a Red Angus and Simmental commercial livestock operation, and raise corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and cover crops.
Wagner was elected NDFB president in 2025 after previously serving as vice president and as a District 3 board member.
