Jamestown College Announce Graduation Events
JAMESTOWN (Erin Klein, Jamestown College) - Tessa Gould will deliver the Commencement address as Jamestown College presents bachelorís degrees to 160 graduates during its 107th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11 at the Jamestown Civic Center. Baccalaureate takes place at 10:30 a.m. Commencement is at 2:30 p.m.

Gould, a 1996 graduate of Jamestown College, is Chief of Staff to Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota. Prior to being named Chief of Staff, Gould managed Sen. Heitkampís successful 2012 race for North Dakotaís open Senate seat. She was recently honored by the American Association of Political Consultants by being named the recipient of the Campaign Excellence Award for Campaign Manager of the Year.

Speakers representing the class of 2013 are Matthew Nies, a mass communication and Spanish graduate from Ashley, N.D.; and Shane Ringdahl, an elementary education graduate from Wahpeton, N.D. Dr. Richard Walentine, Professor of music and Music Department chairman, will deliver the Baccalaureate address.

Alumni Hall of Fame inductees being recognized at Commencement are 1979 graduate Susanne Conrad, a journalist with the ZDF television network in Germany; 1958 graduate Dr. Kenneth Metz, Dean Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of health and physical activity at the University of Pittsburgh; and 1988 graduate Jeffrey Young, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Evolution1, Fargo, N.D.

The Jamestown College Concert Choir will present a Commencement Concert at 7 p.m. Friday in Voorhees Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
