Pro-Life Demonstration in Jamestown July 2-9
JAMESTOWN - A pro-life demonstration will be held in Jamestown July 2-9. On Tuesday, July 2, pink and blue flags will be available at Ave Maria Village from 5 to 9 p.m. The flags are intended to be placed on lawns as memorials of the estimated 66,000 abortions that have been conducted in North Dakota since the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling in Roe vs. Wade, according to event organizers.

The flags are going to be reused around the state in other demonstrations, so participants are asked to return the flags July 9. Anyone seeking to pick up flags should email mwanchic@hotmail.com.

Organizers Eric and Maria Wanchic say in their press release that the idea came to Maria Wanchic in January 2013 at the beginning of the 63rd North Dakota legislative session. The Bismarck couple says there were several threats of vandalism to the project when it was done in the capital city, but no actual vandalism occured. The Wanchics say precautions were taken to guard the displays after they received the threats.
