VCSU Launches Presidential Search
VALLEY CITY - The search for the next president of Valley City State University officially launched today. The application deadline is August 25, with the successful candidate starting on or about January 1, 2015, if not earlier.

The North Dakota University System contracted with James H. McCormick, a senior consultant at AGB Search, to assist with the process. The applications will be reviewed by the Presidential Search Committee. Then, the top candidates will be forwarded to the State Board of Higher Education for a final decision.

“We are excited to launch this process and optimistic that we will find a dynamic, purpose-driven leader who can continue to take Valley City State University to the next level,” said Kirsten Diederich, chair of the Presidential Search Committee and State Board of Higher Education.

On May 6, Dr. Margaret Dahlberg was confirmed by the State Board of Higher Education as the interim president of Valley City State University. She will begin her term as interim president on July 1 and remain in that position until the new president starts.

Current VCSU President Steven W. Shirley will start his new position as president of Minot State University on July 1.

A website dedicated to the presidential search and detailing the job qualifications has been set up at Valley City Presidential Search.
