The investigation into a Wednesday night shooting in Wahpeton remains ongoing. A 24-year-old man was inside his car at the Minn-Dakota Co-Op when he was struck with a bullet. Initial reports from Richland County Sherriff’s Office claim the man said it was an accidental shooting, and he was driven from Minn-Dakota to a local hospital by another individual to be treated. The Sheriff’s Office was then called to investigate. The man has been air-lifted to Fargo for critical injuries and is currently in unclear condition. RCSO says they have not determined what led to the shooting, or if it was indeed accidental. The investigation remains open, and no suspects have been identified.
