The Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission applauded the safety and efficiency of its about 160 pilots, also noting the applicators have done twice the amount of coverage with less than half of the skilled labor force compared to 40 years ago.

According to the National Agricultural Aviation Association, aerial applicators in the US treat approximately 127 million acres of cropland, 5.1 million acres of forests, 7.9 million acres of pasture and rangeland and 4.8 million acres for public health spraying.
