Michigan has introduced its first Farm-to-Family “Food Hubs and Farm Stops” grant program to bolster the state’s mid-supply-chain agri-food systems.
Administered by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), the program aims to support innovative models that connect locally produced, healthy food with residents while creating economic opportunities for farmers.
Grants of up to $50,000 will be available for projects that expand processing capacity, sourcing, transportation, distribution, or other key functions that enhance Michigan’s food systems. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on February 21, with details available on MDARD’s website.
