Fargo Police officer returns to the force after critical injury from ambush attack

Fargo Police officer Andrew Dotas is back with the force. Dotas was one of four police officers involved in an ambush attack on July 14, 2023.

A gunman ambushed Officers Dotas, Tyler Hawes, Zachary Robinson and Jake Wallin. Wallin was killed and Dotas, Hawes and a civilian were critically injured and required months of medical treatment and rehabilitation. Hawes resumed duty on February 4.

Police Chief Dave Zibolski called Dotas return to duty, “nothing short of astonishing.”
